35MM film photography

You have a 35mm film camera or a 17mm half frame film camera, you want to try the wonderful but sometimes disastrous world of film photography.

I have been shooting film since I got my first film camera in 1979, it’s not hard but it can be expensive if you make a simple but easy to make mistake. Film is enjoyable, the negatives keep your photography safe for generations unlike digital.

I will step you through the basics of your camera, explain reading light without a meter and step you what film to use.

Involves a 90 minute long walk and a dropbox link with videos to support your development/ training.

Digital Photography

Elevate your skills by getting out of Auto on your camera.

I can you show you how to be more creative in camera and reduce the time you spend out of camera editing.

Show you when to use Aperture mode and when to use Shutter priority mode on the camera, how to use ISO and what lens is best for the artistic approach.

Involves three x one hour long walks in the city and a dropbox link with videos to support your training.

Photography walks

You are looking to develop as a photographer, whether you understand Aperture, Shutter priority or just happy in Auto the aim for you is to get more creative with what you shoot.

Can help with a variety of genres, Street photography, Wildlife photography or Landscape photography.

Street photography is not about taking photos of people drinking coffee, it is an art form that has evolved over the past 100 years with each photographer developing a their own style.

Wildlife photography is best learned at the Melbourne or Werribee zoo, shutter speed and a telephoto lens is needed. Composition is the key to perfect wildlife photography.

Landscape can be parks and garden photography or vistas over the ocean or sweeping plains. Williamstown, St Kilda or Melbourne are three ideal locations to teach layering, macro photography and wide angle lens use.

Involves a 2 hour walk for street or landscape and a 3 hour walk with zoo entrance fee included. Dropbox link provided with further videos to develop your skills after the walk.
